The design of this elegant three-story beauty salon is the work of designer Tetsuya Ito from Takara Space Design in Tokyo.
Located in Omiya, Japan, this salon -- which comprises a beauty salon, manicure salon and personal styling area -- is composed of two buildings and offers a sophisticated, understated and calming atmosphere. An all-over subdued aesthetic takes over, with hanging translucent fabric walls depicting faded images of building facades; these images create a ghostly look. Hanging mirrors have been strategically placed overtop some of the "windows" of the building facades, which creates "the illusion of real openings," suggests Dezeen.
Takara Space Design's Tetsuya Ito also used fluorescent chandeliers and glowing "rings" behind curtains to provide soft illumination.
