Blueberry Dessert Sushi

Genki Sushi's Sweet Sushi Dish Uses Cream Cheese, Cereal & Berries

Genki Sushi is known as Japan's first ever sushi conveyor chain, but this traditional restaurant is keeping up with the times by offering unusual hybrids, including sweet sushi.

The restaurant's Blueberry Cream Sushi is prepared with the usual vinegar rice base, but rather than being topped with something savory, the sushi dish is made with crushed cereal flakes, cream cheese and berries. Since sweet rice is normally used in several Asian dessert dishes, the use of it in this dessert sushi dies doesn't seem like that much of a stretch.

As well as being crossed over with items in the dessert category, sushi has also been prepared in the style of omelettes, burritos and chips.
