The 'Storm Lamp' has been designed by Julia Kononenko for Skandica as a series of illuminators that will provide a jagged, angular aesthetic that calls to mind the chaotic experience of tornado weather events.
The lights are available in both hanging and floor models, which are both designed in raw wood and all-black finishes to provide different kinds of color intrigue. Each one is constructed with a base that is paired with angular components that have a lightning-like look and create balance through upper and lower accents.
The 'Storm Lamp' was explained further by Kononenko who said, "The edges resemble the riot of nature. The light passing through the plane of the lampshade reflects on them and resembles lightning strikes. In addition to the soft glow that fills the room with soft light, the rays create a quaint pattern on the walls of the room in the form of vertical lines, bringing a special atmosphere to the interior."
