R&B singer and self-described "artivist" Kehlani is launching her new startup 'flora' after having secured $50,000 in funding.

Flora, serves as an investment tech startup, which offers funding to health and wellness initiates led by people of color, specifically queer women of color. The startup sits on the intersection of technology and wellness, offering a service which provides "curated green content" for young people. In a statement regarding the new business endeavor, Kehlani stated that Flora helps to "bridge the gap between my career, activism and my audience."

Last year, the star was hospitalized following an attempted suicide, and hopes Flora can serve as an online community and mental health resource to aid youth struggling with similar problems.
