The Starbucks Digital Traceability Tool Ensures Supply Transparency

As part of Starbucks' commitment to 100% ethically sourced coffee in partnership with Conservation International, the iconic coffee chain has launched the Starbucks Digital Traceability tool. The bean-to-cup traceability tool enables customers to "transforms each bag of coffee beans into a digital passport, taking coffee lovers on a virtual expedition to meet farmers, roasters, and baristas and to explore coffee-growing regions around the world."

The new tool underscores Starbucks' dedication to providing high-quality coffee while also positively impacting the lives and livelihoods of coffee farmers and their communities. As part of C.A.F.E. (Coffee and Farmer Equity) Practices, Starbucks coffee is now 100% traceable, meaning the customer will now know which farms the beans come from, the names of the farmers, and the price paid to each of them for the coffee.

The new Starbucks Digital Traceability tool is simple to use. Simply visit the platform on a smartphone or laptop ad select "Trace Your Coffee." Next, use a camera to scan the batch code or enter it manually to learn about the coffee's journey, from bean-to-cup.
