Built-In Greenhouse Stadium Stands

Marc Mimram Adds an Eco Twist to the Court Simonne Mathieu

Marc Mimram Architecture & Associés attempts to infuse this tennis court with sustainable features through the incorporation of greenhouses that are built into the stadium stands of the Court Simonne Mathieu at Roland Garros.

The court is sunken and the housing for the vegetation is built on the outside. This allows for the stadium to not only function as a venue for the French Open but also to be aesthetically pleasing to observers from the outside. Moreover, the incorporation of greenhouses in the stadium stands is an extension of the Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil botanical garden. The building is located on its premises.

Marc Mimram Architecture & Associés does a wonderful job in selecting purposeful and aesthetically pleasing design cues for Court Simonne Mathieu.
