The Stack Solution looks like a pile of geometric learning blocks for children. But in place of bright primary colors and wood materials, this building is all glass, concrete and bright lights fit for an older audience. Sleek and sophisticated, the bottom portion is a squat square, while the middle part takes on four cylindrical shapes and the crowning form is a large curving rectangle.
Designed by Studio Gang Architects, a firm based in Chicago, Illinois, the Stack Solution is "motivated by the challenge to create a state-of-the-art biomedical research facility while simultaneously preserving Chicago’s architectural legacy," as written on Behance. The Stack Solution adopts a clover leaf structure that is both practical and visually striking. Hospitals and research facilities will never be the same.
