Nike is planning to update and equip 22 sporting sites across Rio, most of which are in low-income areas. The sites are being named 'Olympic Villages' after Rio hosting the 2016 Olympic Games. Nike is aiming to increase access to sports and physical activity for kids in under-resourced areas. Nike is providing training and equipment for PE teachers and equipment for the 'Olympic Village' sites. Nike is aiming to provide 40,000 pieces of product and equipment and 1,000 employee volunteer hours per year for the next five years.
