Amazon has announced that it will create solar and wind farms in two separate locations. The first location will be in Ireland and it will be a wind farming project. The second is located in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, which will be a solar farm. Construction of solar and wind farms is expected to take until 2020. The clean energy project will produce a total of 168,000 MWh each year. The two clean energy initiatives will help Amazon move closer to its goal of only using renewable energy in company operations.
The new sustainable initiatives mark the 66th total energy project that the company has undertaken. Amazon states that all of its green energy initiatives produce a total of 1,342 MW of sustainable energy.
