Polyphasic sleep is the practice of sleeping multiple times in a 24-hour period rather than laying down for 8 straight hours.
How do you practice polyphasic sleep patterns while you're at work? You could sleep under your desk like George Costanza in Seinfeld or you could sleep standing up. To find an alternate way of occupying urban space (and to allow folks to sleep just about anywhere), a Conflux project designed this vertical bed.
Implications - The vertical bed is a phenomenal idea that challenges the urban space is occupied. The aim is for the occupants to incorporate the vertical structure into their own bodies. This is definitely a project that is unconventional and that could challenge the way space is used and conceived of in all types of ways.
