SocialBusiness.org has recently been covering a number of Echoing Green Fellows but most of them have been from this year, the 2013 Class, however, SKS Microfinance's Vikram Akula was a 1998 Echoing Green Fellow. A few of this year's fellows, for instance Ankit Mathur from Greenway Grameen Infra, cited Akula as an inspiration. "He has been very frank about his experiences in recent developments in the microfinance space in India—a great service to the community and to young entrepreneurs who are better informed about the risks," Mathur wrote.
SKS Microfinance was founded as an NGO but has now turned into a for-profit loan-providing business, illuminating the trajectory of many social enterprises and also, the future potential.
