She’s The First is a not-for-profit organization that sponsors girls in the developing world to enable them to go to school and be the first in their families to graduate.
Statistically, girls are at a disadvantage economically and are less likely to be given the same opportunities to attend school as their male counterparts. Operating both on donations as well as helping to organize fundraising initiatives, the organization donates the proceeds of its efforts to help girls overcome obstacles and empower not only themselves and their families—but their entire community.
By helping to organize projects in North America run by young girls as well donating profits from the sales of baked goods and jewelry, the organization exposes the hurdles presented to those in the developing world. In doing so, they connect the two groups and inspire local girls to help those in need while empowering girls overseas.
