"Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" is opening at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art in May 2008. The exhibit will showcase legendary American superheroes and their influence on fashion.
The Incredible Hulk suit by Belgian designer Walter Van Beirendonck is said to inflate phallically in various strategic places, designer Gareth Pugh has chosen stealth as his outfit's most menacing and striking design element, while high fashion designer Thierry Mugler has married together the magic and mystery of feminine sex appeal with his signature over-the-top designs.
The museum will be hosting an official high-society gala party the evening of May 5th, 2008 with proceeds going to help fund local artists. The exhibit is officially open to the public May 6th, 2008 and looks like it's worth going to have a look-see.
