Chicago-based meat company Devanco Foods has announced the launch of a new Angus beef brand called Shamcon Beef Bacon. The newly established brand will launch its signature beef bacon product in select Costco stores in the United States.
The new beef bacon is delivered in a smoked, uncured, and carefully seasoned format, making it jam-packed with flavor and easy to cook. In addition, Schamcon Beef Bacon has significantly fewer calories and less fat and sodium than its pork-based counterpart.
"The finest beef makes the best beef bacon. This product brings beef to the breakfast table, or any time of day, in a bold, delicious way," said Brett Erickson, director of value-added products for Certified Angus Beef.
Dubbed by the brand as 'America's Steak Bacon,' the new product arrives as a viable and flavorful alternative to traditional pork bacon; one that will likely appeal to those looking to cut down on fat and calories without sacrificing the meaty taste and texture found with the real thing.
