Holographic Sake Cups

The 'Holoyoisho' Vessel is Filled with Virtual Cherry Blossom Petals

As a next-gen take on the traditional sake cup, Tokyo's Drill Inc. created an innovative Holoyoisho drinking vessel. The design of the Holoyoisho is modeled on the box-shaped wooden drinking vessel that's used for celebrations.

Holoyoisho gets its name from the Japanese word "horoyoi," which translates to "slightly and comfortably drunk" and also references the most dynamic and holographic element of the design. As well as being filled with real sake, the cup also gets virtually filled with sakura cherry petal blossoms that dance within the traditionally inspired drinking cup and eventually accumulate at the bottom like real petals.

Thanks to the technological properties of the sake cup, it can also be used to display other visuals like brightly colored fireworks, or share Japanese music or sounds.
