Molly Dworsky's Royals parody laments her middle-aged woes.
In Lorde's (seemingly-ubiquitous) catchy tune, Dworsky sings about the injustices of adulthood, including, but not limited to, stretch marks, saggy breasts and having to pay for your own healthcare. She dreams of abandoning the strictures of adulthood in favor of returning to high school and becoming Prom Queen.
The highlight of the video is most definitely the chorus, where a straight-faced Dworsky sings: "Cause every song's like/Written by a kid I probably used to babysit/Killing it by puberty/While I can barely stay fit/So Unfair/That Lorde's a millionaire at 17." True, Lorde may be raking in millions of dollars, but Dworsky's video got millions of views when it was released, so she shouldn't feel too bad.
