First it was a Cloud Lamp and now the Richard Clarkson Studio has gone and designed a Rain Lamp. A natural follow up to the original light fixture, it appears the team is loathe to leave behind their weather inspiration just yet. After all, the first one was received incredibly well. The Rain Lamp is just as stunning.
The Richard Clarkson Studio is nevertheless based around something even more abstract, "harmonious contradictions." It brings together water and electricity in a surprising way. Design Milk writes, "A large, clear globe is outfitted with a Micro-Peristaltic pump and an LED light bulb, with a pool of lighting chlorinated water at the bottom. The hidden pump circulates the water from the bottom to release drops around the bulb." The result is mesmerizing in a serene way.
