This Danish Building Will Be Fitted With Balcony Gardens

Danish architecture firm Studio Lokal is launching an audacious new project which will see the construction of a high-rise residential skyscraper, located in the capital city Copenhagen, that will feature design elements that aim to encourage and inspire residents to grow their own fruit and produce. Specifically, each residential unit in the building will come with its very own balcony garden, that residents can use to grow fruit and vegetables for their own consumption as well as for selling and exchange.

The fact of the matter is that most people don't grow their own fruit and vegetables because they simply lack the means and the facilities, rather than the motivation. By giving every resident of the building a mini-garden in their own balcony, this residential skyscraper uses intelligent architecture to promote sustainable farming in an urban environment.
