Okewa has already established itself as a creator of designer raincoats, but its latest offerings feature recycled plastic raincoats. Alarmed by the prediction of increasing plastic waste populating our oceans, Okewa decided to intercept this waste before it even reaches the sea. The recycled plastic raincoats currently come in six stylish designs, all of which use recycled materials and feature impressive designs.
The center of this six-piece collection was focused on a new sustainable and relaxed direction for Okewa, while also including functional elements in each raincoat. These new design elements were inspired by the weather and according to co-founder and managing director nick leckie, Okewa is "interested in how weather can shape the culture of a place – the sunshine-orientated culture of L.A. for example, or the cold winters of northern Europe."
