At first, the Recycled Pendant Lamps may appear to be made out of dyed paper plates, but they are actually fashioned out of avocado crates. Designed by Kelly Caruso, a recent grad with a degree in Furniture Design and Woodworking, the crates were given to the designer by a local restaurant.
The Recycled Pendant Lamps began with a grant from her college to study "the application of recycled material in furniture design." Since that grant, the project blossomed into an impressive collection that has caught many people's attention. Strung together with brown string to accentuate the rustic quality of the material, the Recycled Pendant Lamps are rife with character. From cylinders to spheres, the lampshades take on a variety of shapes and sizes that would complement many spaces.
