The Radiolaria Garden Chair looks like an abstract piece of furniture, but for those familiar with marine life, it is clear that it references more than a set of random lines and other basic geometric forms. Inspired by plankton and jellyfish, specifically a subset of plankton for which the seat is named after, the designer writes, "these microscopic animals exist in all possible forms with exciting external skeletal structures ready to be enlarged and modified into new forms."
Created by Swedish industrial designer Lukas Dahlen, the Radiolaria Garden Chair takes on a circular wireframe aesthetic that doesn't particularly recall a nature influence. Yet it is undeniable that there is beauty in the design. The Radiolaria Garden Chair is available in three colors.
