Architect Carlos Castanheira and his design studio based in Porto Castanheira creates four guest apartments that are overlooking the Quinta da Faisca vineyard. it is located in Favais as a visitor accommodation for a winery in Portugal's Duoro Valley.
It is framed by a zigzag roof to give the building a distinctive shape and it is supported by a framework of steel beams that project out from the base. This opens up a panoramic view of the landscape with an extension that is able to provide more facilities. Castenheira notes that "We are suspended in the landscape, which has come in and has taken us out into the open," and described the design as "almost a leap."
