Botanical Beauty Branding

Pure Beauty Products Are Packaged with Whimsical Plant Pictures

The whimsical packaging for Pure beauty products was created as part of a project by designer Philippe Tyan, using a variety of vivid imaginary flowers and plants to set the different lotions, body oils, soaps and salts apart.

The imaginatively illustrated flora comes from the Codex Seraphinianus by Italo Calvino and Luigi Serafini, a book originally published in 1981. Although names like Ginseng, Vitamin D and Aloe have become fairly commonplace, Tyan describes that his concept was to create a packaging series that makes it look as if "All of these products were made from plants that were recently discovered in a virgin forest." Although paired with familiar names, the illustrations are intriguing and appeal to one's sense of curiosity.
