Mother Earth Brew Co. has launched a brand new hazy IPA whose name appears to be inspired by its psychedelic cover art. The 'Head Case' hazy IPA isn't merely a treat for your eyes however, as this beer has a memorable flavor to boot.
The 'Head Case' hazy IPA makes use of a malt base that will be recognizable to fans of the brewery's Project X Series. Additionally, this particular IPA makes use of a trio of hops of the Galaxy, Citra and Mosaic varieties, with the beer coming in at 45 IBU (International Bitterness Units) and a bold ABV of 7.2 percent.
"Combining modern hopping techniques along with the right yeast strain is critical to achieving the right balance of juicy-meets-clean," noted Chris Baker, director of brewing operations at Mother Earth Brew Co. "Head Case is the first beer we’ve brewed to feature our new crop year of Citra and Galaxy, which are showing really strong aromatics, especially in the tropical and stone fruit categories."
Flavor profile aside, this beer features a psychedelic label that is the work of Michael Gustus, a Los Angeles artist.
