Michael Green Architecture was commissioned by the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club in the making of a series of polycarbonate building designs. The structures are to be used as storage systems for racing shells, sails, maritime monitoring tools and the like. With a strong minimalist aesthetic, spacious garage doors and calming translucent walls, the polycarbonate building seamlessly translates itself into the location.
Situated at Jericho Beach — "an area [with] charming family homes," Michael Green Architecture's project draws attention with its irregular shape. The firm connected two volumes — one faces toward the sea to allow boats and so on to enter, the other mass channels material use to "bring sunlight in during the daytime and [to] glow at night."
