Custom Ecotectural Beach Homes

The Point Piper House by POPOVbass is an Idyllic Beach Home

The Point Piper House by POPOVbass Architects is a beautiful and eco-friendly home in Sydney, Australia with a stellar view of the water in addition to a pool in the back.

The site presented challenges to architects due to the existence of large homes on either side, which make natural light only available from the east and above the house; the plot is also oddly shaped and located on a serious vertical drop of three stories. To address this, the architects installed solar panels and gas boosters to facilitate pool heating, hot water and to heat the home with the use of hydronic, trench-heating technology. Rain water is also collected and used for the toilets.

The four-story Point Piper House by POPOVbass is designed to make the most of its peculiar lot and definitely achieves that with an enormous amount of natural light entering the home through large windows that look out onto the water.
