Eleanor Macnair’s Tumblr page features a series of recreated portraits that replicate real photographs, but uses Play-Doh as the means to recreating them. These portraits are recreated based on original professional photographs from today, dating all the way to the 1950s.
These rendered photographs are inspired by images requested by her audience. Macnair uses a variety of standard Play-Doh which is then cut and shaped appropriately. Some portraits are simply two-dimensional, while others require layering of materials. Due to her popularity, she has inspired other artists to begin doing the same (in which she occasionally features guest artists on her blog.)
