Irish designer Domhnall Nolan designs the Play Pieces collection for Joyride, which is a queer kink night that is kicking off in London's Corsica Studios later this month. The capsule is made up of modular sex furniture that is inspired by elements of a retro gym and its equipment to result in a gender-inclusive range. There are two items of furniture that make up the capsule along with a detachable cage wall.
Kicking off the capsule is the Play Piece 01 which is a loveseat folding bed that can be altered into six different modules. Nolan explains to Dezeen that "I wanted to create pieces to make people feel sexual and to react to that in their own way, they're non-prescriptive pieces that you can use in whatever way you desire. This approach was very much just 'sex between people' – any kind of person doing any kind of sexual activity. Which in itself is a very queer approach."
