Design studio Sonn was tapped to help create a new extension at the Plaster House, which is located in Hackney, London. The Victorian building gets an additional bedroom with more improvements connected to the garden in the back of the home. The team aimed to create a 'carved-out' feeling in the space in a uniform manner.
The studio used a range of plaster finishes in a selection of pale tones inside and outside. Founder of Sonn, Tim Robinson speaks to Dezeen about the design concept and how the team created a carved aesthetic. He states, "A focus on light, height and connection to the garden was key, but we also wanted the space to feel like it had been 'carved-out' of stone."
