Plant-Based Chicken Buckets

KFC Canada is Testing Meatless, Plant-Based Fried Chicken Options

Earlier this year, KFC partnered with Beyond Meat to test meatless Beyond Fried Chicken and now the fried chicken chain is launching a one-day trial of plant-based fried chicken with plant-based protein brand Lightlife. For one day only at a Mississauga location in Ontario, Canada, KFC is testing out the Plant-Based Fried Popcorn Chicken bucket, as well as a Plant-Based Fried Chicken sandwich that can be ordered in regular or spicy varieties.

According to KFC Canada's CMO Sam Redman, "We believe the Colonel’s famous finger lickin’ good taste should have no boundaries," said Sam Redman, chief marketing officer, KFC Canada, in a statement. So we’ve created several craveable plant-based options for Canadian’s looking for a meat-free meal."

Potentially, KFC could introduce plant-based options nationally in the new year.
