Podcast-Inspired Alcoholic Drinks

The 'Pink Whitney' is Inspired by a Popular Sports Podcast

New Amsterdam Vodka created The Pink Whitney -- a pink lemonade vodka drink inspired by the content of the popular hockey podcast 'Spittin' Chiclets.' The idea for this new product came when New Amsterdam Vodka first sponsored the quickly growing sports podcast back in 2018, and one of the show's co-hosts Ryan Whitney expressed his favorite way to enjoy the vodka -- with pink lemonade.

Since then the mixed drink grew in popularity as fans of the podcast shared themselves drinking the makeshift 'Pink Whitney' over social media. The popularity was so strong that it inspired New Amsterdam to partner with Ryan Whitney and the podcast owned by the media company, Barstool Sports. Together, the companies actually create the drink. The Pink Whitney officially entered the United States market in September 2019 and is expected to make it to Canada soon. Fans of the show are now sharing themselves drinking the official Pink Whitney on social media.

The growing success of the podcast and the mutually beneficial partnership with its sponsor, New Amsterdam Vodka has led to the new product creation based on the content featured throughout the podcast.
