Barbie-Inspired Cityscapes

This Barbiehattan Series Imagines New York as an Alternative Pink City

Russian designer and businessman Vasily Klyukin created this pink city photography series titled 'Barbiehattan.' The collection of images transforms New York City into a Barbie-themed illusion.

Each image is filled with pink aspects and Barbie doll billboards. Vasily Klyukin's decided to create this project by imagining what the city would look like if it were run "not by a politician, but a cultural icon."

Each image is infused with pink lights, pink street signs and pink buildings the emit a pastel glow at night. The result is an illuminated pink city with vivid landmarks like Lady Liberty herself who is depicted as a massive statue of hot pink concrete. However, the most exhilarating image is that of New York's iconic Time Square which is covered in pink billboards and doll-inspired ads.
