Eugenio Recuenco's photography is unlike a lot of its counterparts. The artist shows his respect to the Spanish, cubism master Pablo Picasso by reviving his portraits in photography form.
Recuenco's body of work is very diverse and extends to cinematography, and yet still preserves his signature style. These women portraits are very cinematic. Some of them look like fashion editorials while others look like paintings.
One thing that binds them together is the fact that neither of them look the same. Eugenio Recuenco's interpretations of the Picasso paintings are phenomenal. I especially love that he stayed true to the artist's art form and kept the unsymmetrical facial elements. A great example for this is the bob haircut portrait with a large Picasso-drawn eye on the girl's cheek.
