Klab Architecture designed the 'Paradox House,' a contemporary family home located in Athens, Greece.
The house is the first to be built on the site, which is located in the rural area of Paiania, so the architects had to consider future housing developments that will eventually be built in the plots adjacent to the home. The architects' main objective was to design a home that would be abundant with natural light and access to views. The ground floor walls promote both of these objectives, angled so that the house is protected from the winds in the north and receives light from the east.
Three white cubic volumes, which form an internal "village" format, function as the home's private sphere, while the ground floor is intended as a public space. The final design is a blend between lightness, transparency, void and volume.
