Liza Lou's Painting Exhibition Debuts 12 New Pieces of Work

Artist Liza Lou unveils her new work at the Painting exhibition taking place at the Legmann Maupin Gallery in New York. There are 12 new pieces that are defined by their colorfully captivating look. Made up of tens of thousands of colorful glass beads, it is meant to replicate the look of brushstrokes.

At a closer glance, there is a blend of paint and pixels cohesively applied on the canvas. Lou is inspired by her experience viewing paint under a microscope and pushes her creative boundaries to new possibilities. The beads are large pigment particles and they come together to create a three-dimensional pixelated view. All of the works were created in her studio in the Mojave Desert.
