A new set of painted oak stools available from the Museum of Modern Art's online store help outdoorsy decorators to stay in touch with nature. The stools are made from raw wood with just a single coat of brightly colored paint, bringing to mind cottage boathouses in the summertime.
Each of the painted oak stools is cut directly from an oak tree and painted by hand, meaning that each stool is completely unique from all the others ordered. Aside from the paint, the only added adornment is a woven cotton handle that makes them easier to move throughout the house. MoMA's stools are also suitable for outdoor use.
The painted oak stools are made in Lithuania, and they're created from local, sustainably harvested oak trees.
