Feminist Book Clubs

UN Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson Launched 'Our Shared Self'

'Our Shared Shelf' is the name of a book club on Goodreads launched by UN Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson.

As part of her work with UN Women, Watson describes that she has been doing a fair share of reading on the topic of equality. Each month, a feminist book is selected for reading and a discussion is set for the last week of the month. Watson also notes that "Whenever possible I hope to have the author, or another prominent voice on the subject, join the conversation."

Currently, the book club is reading 'Mom & Me & Mom' by Maya Angelou. Recently, Watson herself took to London tube stations to drop off a few copies of the book with handwritten notes inside to encourage the feminist book club to grow.
