How does a small, unknown town put itself on the map? Take a cue from the Obermutten campaign and create a Facebook page that promises to post fan's profiles on the village bulletin board for "liking" the page.
This is what the small 79-person town of Obermutten, Switzerland, did. The local mayor promised that whoever clicked on the fan page's "like" button would get his or her profile posted on the Obermutten's official notice board. The campaign, created by agency Jung von Matt, has managed to increase the town's fan page to over 12,000 fans. Costing about 10,000 Swiss francs to start, the campaign has reportedly brought in 2.4 million francs in earned media, says AdWeek.
