In the past, Nutella has released Nutella jars printed with personalized names on them, but this year, brand also launched seven million one-of-a-kind Unica packages with distinctive, artful designs. As the name of the jar collection suggests, each design is completely unique, created by an algorithm that combined patterns and colors of different arrangements. While some jars feature just combinations of a few colors, others embrace dynamic multi-colored schemes with dots, stripes and many other geometric shapes.
After the Unica Nutella jars were introduced to the Italian market, the collection quickly sold out. However, parent company Ferrero reportedly has plans to launch the project across other regions, including Europe, Africa, the Middle East and France.
Plenty of limited-edition, artist-designed packages are periodically released; although an artist's name is not tied to these computer-generated designs, they do promise millions of consumers their very own 100% unique package design.
