Cellular-Networking Knapsacks

Thanks to Vodafone, You Can Carry a Cellular Network Backpack

Are you tired of dropped calls and pending text messages? What if you were in an emergency situation and there was no cell service?

Vodafone Foundation's Network Backpack is essentially, a never-failing, personal cell tower. The portable device connects to a satellite with the switch of a button (perfect for the technologically challenged) to support both voice calls and text messaging.

The battery powered unit can make five calls simultaneously within a 100-meter radius, but can easily be re-charged with solar power, car lighters, generators and mains.

While these were made for the likeliness of humanitarian efforts and in case of natural disasters, I'm sure the cellphone obsessed will try and get their hands on it. Just beware of a possible sore back; it weighs eleven kilograms.
