Jumbo Presents the Neotenic Lamp Designed for Petite Friture

Brooklyn=baed design studio Jumbo launches the new Neotenic lamp for French design imprint Petite Friture. The table lamp is made with inspiration from the look of cavatappi pasta, which has a squiggly shape to it. The lamp features mouth-blown glass as the shade and rests on a ceramic body that is handmade in Portugal.

The brand speaks about the specific design, stating that "The body requires a complex mould to achieve this rounded shape [...] Particularly for the large size, which requires a mould in six parts, manual and meticulous finishing of the ceramic before firing, drying against gravity and painting in a shiny and smooth or matte and powdery effect, to be applied in a single and unique gesture." Every single lamp comes with an LED module incorporated into the design and it is set to launch in November.
