Memory-Based Virtual Museums

The Museum of Memories Raises Dementia Awareness

The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) is raising dementia awareness among women with the Museum of Memories and an initiative developed by creative agency WongDoody called Wild & Precious. Volunteer contributors shared memories that they wanted to preserve and their meaningful memories are depicted in digital spaces.

The memories range from childhood walks in Scotland to weddings with butterflies and the whole concept stems from the work of American poet Mary Oliver, specifically the final line from her poem titled The Summer Day—"Tell me, what is it you plan to do / with your one wild and precious life?"

To make sure that these shared memories won't be lost, each video will be minted on the blockchain so that they can be stored safely and shared with future generations.
