A new observation tower called the Mur Tower has been built right on the River Mur located in Southern Styria, Austria.
It opened to the public just in time for the beginning of spring season, offering a clear view of the beautiful outdoor landscape. The design for the stunning sculptural structure was developed by the Munich-based architects and landscape architects 'terrain:loenhart&mayr.' Featuring a lookout onto the banks of the River Mur, the twisting tower lets visitors experience the river catchment situated in the deep forest.
The Mur Tower has a spiraling path going upwards like a screw. Each level that is passed shows a different perspective of the forest, which "enables visitors to experience the eco system and the microclimate of the forest."
