Brooklyn-based art collective MSCHF has announced the launch of a new collection of high-end retail shopping bags called 'ONLYBAGS.' The collection has been released alongside 'Drop #67,' the brand's new line of curated products.
The ONLYBAGS collection will consist of 12 unique retail shopping bags, all of which will don fashion label branding from companies including Burberry, Fendi, Hermes, Prada, Victoria's Secret, Sephora, and more. A standout piece included in the capsule is the red-and-white "Thank You" bag, which draws inspiration from the iconic bags found at corner stores and deli's around the world.
Dropping an entire collection dedicated to shopping bags -- and not actual merchandise -- is certainly an unusual choice for the brand. However, MSCHF offered its (somewhat cryptic) reasoning in a recent press statement saying, "carrying an armload of bags puts you in dialogue with all the images you’ve seen of people carrying armloads of bags,"
