As well as having its staff dress up like otherworldly creatures, there's another reason the Kawaii Monster Cafe has the name it does—when it opens this summer, it will be the largest cafe in all of Tokyo.
The cafe is set to serve a variety of dishes in crazy colors, making the experience of eating and drinking at this cafe a real attraction. The concept came from the mind of Sebastian Masuda, who is known for designing the stages for iconic Japanese pop stars and pop-up tourist centers in the heart of Japan.
Set for an opening in August, the cafe is now holding auditions for "Harajuku Monster Girl" servers, in the themes like dolly, candy, candy and baby. As well as being a place that curious locals will gravitate towards, tourists will likely be drawn to it as well for teh chance to be immersed in some of the extremes of Japanese culture.
