Monacca is an environmentally-friendly brand that produces a range of bags, backpacks, small furniture and even calculators made of Japanese cedar.
The sleek and warm design of these handbags, a line for both women and men, is a product of industrial designer, Takumi Shimamura. They are made of cedar, canvas and leather and have a water repellent finish.
The small furniture pieces include a floor cushion and low tables and chairs. Due to the different natural grains of cedar, each piece is unique, and prices ranging from $250 to $300.
What's makes them eco-friendly? A percentage of the sales goes back to rebuilding forests.
The wood comes from Umagi Village on the south coast of the southern island of Shikoku, Japan.
