Taking up the majority of a narrow lot in Kew, Australia, the Molesworth Street House is now a modernized single-family home that transformed a classic Edwardian home in a unique and stylish way.
Since the lot is so thin, the home required a long extension rather than one that's wide, creating a difficult renovation for the design team. The original structure was utilized as an entrance hallway, allowing the new structure to expand behind it. Creating a unique contrast, the new space is a luxuriously modern structure with clean lines, oversized windows, a bright color scheme and unique features such as the statement staircase or the wine wall.
The main living area in the Molesworth Street House is fitted with a contemporary style with rotating screens and large exposed glass panels that look out onto the backyard terrace while providing tons of natural lighting.
