Modektura Adds New Flooring to an Apartment in Kyiv

Kyiv-based design studio Modektura takes on a renovation project where it turns a balcony into a conservatory. The studio creates the interior visuals as a reflection of the apartment block's rich history as it dates back to 1900.

Founder of Modektura, Maksym Dietkobskyi speaks to Dezeen about the home and the design process, noting "We wanted to tie it back to the house itself. Colours and textures were chosen to create an interior that feels like it has a history – one that has been waiting for its owner for a long time." The refurbished floors are made with a unique incorporation as it adds sand into the terrazzo as a part of the textural finish. Notably, the mineral plasters that decorate the walls are also embedded with marble chips.
