Russian studio Ruetemple furnished this country home with mobile furniture and a hammock, creating a dynamic space for both work and play. The space includes a convertible seating cube on wheels, as well as a staircase-bookshelf hybrid. The biggest challenge for the architects was to create a space that would continue to be engaging for the residents.
The seating cube is comprised of three parts, which can be organized in a multitude of ways, from a triumvirate of sofas, a linear arrangement or even a bed. There is also the option of closing the cube entirely, creating a room within a room.
On the opposite end of the room, a work space containing desks, shelves, cupboards and a staircase is permanently installed, so as to "avoid any sense of fragmentation." The finished space facilitates recreation, relaxation and study in a seamless, flexible manner.
