Rather than going to a bar in London this summer, The Travelling Gin Company, will have a mobile bar come to you. The bicycle bar concept involves bikes that have been reformatted specifically for the purposes of carrying around cocktails using a spirit optic.
In terms of logistics and legality, The Travelling Gin Company tours areas of the city where it is allowed to hold a temporary alcohol licence. Most of The TGC's pop-up appearances are through on-demand bookings, such as private events, shop openings, product launches and weddings. Since the bikes require no power to operate, they can be set up virtually anywhere.
In collaboration with the Ebeltoft Farm Brewery, The TGC created their own small-batch TGC Tonic. In the coming months this summer, the company also has hopes to host its own pop-ups.
